    Overview

Our Granville Children’s Centre is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, their families and educators. We embrace all cultures, walks of life, languages and traditions. Our educators are passionate about creating a welcoming community for everyone.

Our team of dedicated and passionate educators focus on what makes each child unique and create fun learning areas that spark curiosity and imagination. We also partner with families to create Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that align with their goals, helping to nurture each child’s emerging skills.

At the end of the year, we love to sit down with families to celebrate their children's journeys and share all the wonderful accomplishments and growth we’ve seen.

    About us

Our commitment to inclusivity and respect for diversity is what makes the Granville centre special. Our families and educators form a proud multicultural and multilingual community, making our centre a happy, bubbly hub of people from all walks of life.

At our centre, every educator is bilingual and can effortlessly communicate in the languages spoken by families at home. At Granville Children’s Centre, we proudly speak Dari, Tamil, Punjabi, Urdu, Arabic, Spanish, and Chinese. Our cultural diversity fosters a welcoming environment and allows migrant families to feel valued and understood in our community. Plus, we can translate resources for families into their home languages and have Google Translate on hand, so we can always bridge any communication gaps when needed.

We proudly celebrate Chinese New Year, Ramadan, Eid, NAIDOC Week, Harmony Day, Diwali and Christmas at our centre and love to have families provide input for these events. These meaningful celebrations enrich everyone’s understanding of diverse cultural values and celebrations.

    Mobile services

We provide mobile dental care and vision screening for children at the Granville centre. This service supports migrant families by giving them valuable information about their children’s wellbeing and developmental needs.

We understand that reading is essential to a child’s developmental needs, so we also have a mobile library service. The warm and welcoming environment encourages children to choose books that suit their interests, hopefully sparking lifelong reading habits.

    8 Ways of Learning

We are proud adopters of the 8 Ways of Learning approach. This practice from Aboriginal Culture incorporates natural resources like rocks and sticks to share stories in a yarn circle. We engage children in ‘See Something and Wonder’ group time, which encourages curiosity about the natural world and builds storytelling skills. We find this especially important in our fast-paced, technology-reliant society.

    A typical day

At Granville Centre, we focus on intentional teaching and care. We design programs that align with children’s interests and developmental needs by combining structured learning and spontaneous play. This nurturing environment allows children to explore, learn, and grow.

Your child will receive a warm greeting at the door that builds strong, trusting relationships between children and educators. We involve children in decisions to build autonomy and confidence. We also cater to each child's dietary needs, including family cultural preferences, and have a dedicated breastfeeding facility.

We have three rooms, with their own structures and routines. Each room has children grouped by age (0-2 years, 2-3 years and 3-5 years). The children’s routines, educators and allergy plans are communicated via displayed rosters for transparency and safety.

    HubHello platform

We love to keep our families informed to boost transparency and engagement. We do this using the HubHello platform.

    What our parents say

“Both of our daughters attended the centre. We’ve loved seeing the enriched activities, library visits and the addition of vibrant family trees and art decorations at the centre. It truly is a homey, welcoming space.

“The staff are always smiling and happy, creating a positive and nurturing atmosphere for the kids. It’s been especially great to see new experiences always happening and more local families joining the community. The sense of growth and connection is truly wonderful. Thank you to everyone at TAFE NSW Granville Children’s Centre for your fantastic care!”
