University and higher education collaboration

Collaboration is central to TAFE NSW's approach to meeting the evolving needs of industry and communities. By combining our efforts with universities and other higher education providers, we amplify our impact.

In doing so, we’re supporting lifelong learning and empowering communities across NSW.

    Innovative co-creation

At TAFE NSW, we collaborate to develop cutting-edge curricula, advanced learning tools and innovative methodologies that enhance educational outcomes.

    We aim to:

    • design forward-thinking programs tailored to industry needs

    • create interactive and modern learning resources for students

    • implement innovative teaching techniques for more effective education

    • foster partnerships that drive continuous curriculum improvement.

    Joint skilling programs

We partner with universities to offer upskilling opportunities for students and educators, ensuring they gain essential and current skills.

When we partner with universities and higher education providers, we can:

    • provide tailored training programs to meet emerging industry demands

    • offer joint courses that integrate vocational and academic learning

    • equip educators with the latest teaching methods and industry knowledge

    • support lifelong learning through continuous skill development opportunities.

    Seamless articulation pathways

We establish pathways for TAFE NSW and university students to access further education and receive credit recognition, ensuring smooth educational transitions.

    We do this by:

    • creating clear progression routes from vocational training to higher education

    • facilitating credit transfers between TAFE NSW and university programs

    • offering dual enrolment options for simultaneous vocational and academic qualifications

    • supporting students with guidance on navigating educational pathways.

    Co-location for innovation

    Other benefits include:

    • fostering collaboration between students, educators and industry partners

    • enabling shared access to cutting-edge facilities and technology

    • supporting continuous learning and career development through co-located services.

    Together, we can:

    • launch initiatives that expand industry-relevant training programs

    • develop products and services that address market needs through education

    • form partnerships that drive economic growth and mutual benefits.

Harnessing our strengths for a bigger impact, we can:

    • craft programs that empower the local workforce and expand career opportunities

    • lead projects that foster cultural awareness and embrace diversity

    • launch targeted initiatives that tackle the unique challenges and unique needs of each community.
