    Work and Development Orders

A young man sits in a classroom, writing in a notepad while smiling up at his teacher. There are two other students and a bookshelf in the background.

If you have a fine issued by Revenue NSW, you may be able to pay it off or reduce its total amount when you study at TAFE NSW.

What are Work and Development Orders?

Work and Development Orders (WDOs) help you pay off fines issued by Revenue NSW by taking a course. TAFE NSW has many educational, vocational and life skills courses to choose from. You can develop new skills while paying off your fines at a rate of $50 per hour to a maximum of $1,000 per month.

Who can apply for a WDO

You can apply for a WDO with TAFE NSW if you are enrolled in a TAFE NSW course and:

    • You are currently receiving a Centrelink benefit (not including the Family Tax Benefit)

    OR

    • You are experiencing acute economic hardship.

If you are enrolled as an apprentice or trainee, TVET student or as part of the mandatory conditions of a court order, you are not eligible to apply for a WDO.

How to apply for a WDO

    1. Complete the relevant TAFE NSW WDO application form/s, which are linked in the section below
