TAFE NSW locations across northern NSW are being affected by Tropical Cyclone Alfred. We have important updates for our TAFE NSW communities. Your safety comes first, so please follow local emergency advice and stay safe.

The following TAFE NSW campuses and delivery sites will close from 5pm today (Wednesday, 5 March) until further notice:

• Ballina

• Byron Bay CLC

• Casino

• Coffs Harbour Education Campus (CHEC)

• Coffs Harbour Glenreagh Street

• Grafton

• Great Lakes

• Kempsey

• Lismore

• Maclean

• Macksville

• Murwillumbah CLC

• Nambucca Heads CLC

• Port Macquarie

• Taree

• Trenayr

• Wauchope

• Wollongbar

• Yamba CLC

TAFE NSW Kingscliff and Murwillumbah campuses, and Southern Cross University are now operating as evacuation centres. More information about evacuation centres in the region can be found on the State Emergency Services (SES) website.

TAFE NSW Wollongbar will act as a staging centre for the SES. At this stage, Wollongbar will remain closed until Wednesday, 12 March.

Affected students will receive updates by email and text. You can also check the TAFE NSW website and Facebook for the latest information. Classes will move online until further notice – your teacher will contact you soon with details.

The NSW State Emergency Service (SES) is warning residents in Northern NSW to prepare for damaging winds, large surf and heavy rainfall with Tropical Cyclone Alfred expected to cross the coast in the next few days.
