All eligible migrants and refugees in Australia can partake in the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) through Distance Learning, empowering them with essential English and settlement skills. AMEP Distance Learning offers personalised English programs, one-on-one and small group sessions, and online access nationwide, for flexible learning. You can access online materials from anywhere in Australia, and join virtual classrooms to interact and build connections with other students.

Anyone who is eligible for the AMEP can study in the AMEP Distance Learning program.
You will learn English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills for everyday living, for work, and for further study. You will also learn about Australian society, culture, customs, and working in Australia. You will study the same courses as students studying in a classroom.
You will be able to do your online study at a time that suits you. You will be able to have your call with your teacher until 9.00pm (AEST/AEDT) on weekdays and until 5.00pm on Saturdays. Virtual classroom lessons will also be offered during the week and on Saturdays.
Yes. If you are in an in-person class, you can also enrol in Distance Learning. Please speak with the AMEP staff at your local TAFE NSW and tell them that you would like to become a Distance Learning student.
You can call us or visit an AMEP office or TAFE NSW location near you to learn if you are eligible for the AMEP. Please bring your passport and visa. If you are AMEP eligible, you will be able to register at your local AMEP office to undertake Distance Learning.
