Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:
Make digital dental restorations and appliances
Use computer-aided Design (CAD)
Build and repair a range of dentures, crown and bridge structures, oral splints, ceramic, and fixed restorations
Construct registration rims and thermoformed bases, appliances, and articulate models
Gain practical experience and develop specialist skills that give you an advantage in the job market.
Skills to construct orthodontic appliances, oral splints and removable acrylic partial dentures
Skills to construct cast alloy removable partial denture framework
Ability to design and construct dental restorations and appliances using computer-aided manufacturing (CAM)

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Dental Technology qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 25 Units of competency, including 4 core and 21 speciality units.
Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
