    Vocational training is essential for the community and a vital part of our local and regional economy. TAFE NSW plays a crucial role in delivering this level of education across the state. The TAFE NSW Charter outlines our commitments to learners, industry and communities, providing an extensive range of qualifications across all sectors.

    Importance of our charter

    The NSW VET Review’s Interim Report, released in March 2024, recognises the power of vocational training as a public good. The report highlights the vital role of a strong TAFE NSW as the central public provider in the NSW VET system. 

    The TAFE NSW Charter outlines the NSW Government’s expectations of TAFE NSW as the state’s public vocational education and training provider. It is structured around TAFE NSW’s three key stakeholder groups - learners, industry and communities.   

    Learners

    TAFE NSW is committed to delivering vocational education and training to the community. We aim to cater to diverse educational and career aspirations of all our students.

    The NSW Government is committed to ensuring every person in NSW has access to vocational education and training, regardless of their personal circumstances.

    Industry

    TAFE NSW partners with industry to develop training programs that meet the ever-evolving needs of employers.
