This course is currently scheduled on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9.00am to 5.00pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.
Knowledge assessments: quizzes, short answer questions, case studies, written tasks, research projects
Practical assessments: manual handling, medication administration, wound care and activities of daily living
Workplace assessments: written tasks, reflective journals, verbal or written questioning, practical demonstrations, workplace portfolio
Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.
You will undertake a mandatory minimum of 400 hours of work placement/Professional Experience Placement meeting the NMBA enrolled nurse Standards for Practice. Please note - TAFE NSW will arrange your work placement with a suitable industry employer.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Nursing qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 25 units of competency, including 20 core and 5 speciality units.

Located on Panorama Avenue, TAFE NSW Bathurst has a wide range of practical courses available that are aimed at training and placing students into suitable positions in the local workforce. Courses include bricklaying, children's services, communication, media, design, digital media, fitness, human resources management, refrigeration, air conditioning and welfare courses. TAFE NSW Bathurst also operates a student hub where students can access library services, counselling, online study help, disability support, Aboriginal support, study pathways and career advice.
