This course is currently scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday with day classes. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.
Knowledge assessments: short answer, research tasks, multiple-choice questions, assignments
Practical skills assessments: demonstrations under observation
Simulated workplace projects: scenario-based problem solving
Submission of a logbook
Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.
It is a requirement of this course that you complete 12 service periods (shifts).
All 12 service periods will be completed in a simulated industry environment with customers at a TAFE campus. You will be responsible for arranging additional service periods for any missed shifts. Our team can offer support and guidance to assist you.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate II in Cookery qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 13 units of competency, including 7 core and 6 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
