    This short course is for people currently working in the electrical industry who want to work in the area of sustainable energy solutions. This microcredential will teach you how to design and apply renewable and non-renewable energy storage systems.

    Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

    • Research commercially available hardware for the design project

    • Design energy storage systems in both renewable and non-renewable energy supply systems

    • Apply energy storage systems Energy Storage Systems in both renewable and non-renewable energy supply systems

    Develop specialist skills to gain an advantage in the job market

    • A microcredential certificate

    • Specialist skills focusing on battery storage, pumped hydro and hydrogen

    • Recognition of prior learning of MHE20502C Energy Storage Systems will be recognised and credited towards the HE20546V01 Undergraduate Certificate of Renewable Energy Engineering and the HE20552V01 Diploma of Renewable Energy Engineering

    Entry requirements

    This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol

    • Provide evidence of relevant prior previous knowledge studies for entry into this course such as a course transcript

    • Experience working in the industry

    You must also:

    • Attend a pre-admission interview where you will also be asked to complete a numeracy task - this helps us to understand how we can support your study success and provide you with any necessary support

    Note:

    • Your certificates, transcripts and other entry requirement evidence must be certified through a Justice of the Peace or other authorising officer

    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • A PC or laptop to access study materials and complete your assessments. You can access this equipment on campus, however it is highly recommended you have your own equipment available.

    You do not require an ATAR score for entry into this course.

    If you are unable to meet the entry requirements, you may be eligible for special admission.
