    Multicultural plan at TAFE NSW

Group of young students leaving class together.

At TAFE NSW we are committed to creating an inclusive environment. This means everyone is included regardless of their cultural background or English language skills.

We have created a Multicultural Plan to promote diversity and inclusion. The plan aims to strengthen both multicultural and intercultural understanding, and allows everyone to participate and contribute positively.

    Our obligations

TAFE NSW must prepare, submit and action a Multicultural Plan as required by the Multicultural NSW Act 2000. To deliver this, we undergo consultation with a raft of key stakeholders. We look forward to launching our next plan in December 2024.

Our Multicultural Plan continues our commitment to embracing diversity and fostering inclusion, for:

    • TAFE NSW learners
    • employees, and
    • communities.

For more detailed information you can read our current 2020-2022 Multicultural Plan.

    The impact of our goals

Through our consultations, our Multicultural Plan developed a number of key goals. These goals support the social and economic success for students, employees and communities. This includes people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

    The goals help us to:

    • ensure the NSW workforce has the skills needed for the future
    • support our local communities
    • be a contemporary, commercial and sustainable business, and
    • develop a customer-driven, proud and productive team.
