Our Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Plan (DIB)

At TAFE NSW, we embrace diversity and inclusion to nurture a sense of belonging at every campus. Diversity and inclusion lead to innovation, creativity, and collaboration between students and teachers.

Our Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Plan (DIB) was co-designed by a team of employees. They each represented a diverse community and provided feedback through focus groups.

Our DIB Plan is a roadmap for integrating diversity, inclusion and belonging principles in our:

    • recruitment
    • curriculum design
    • staff development
    • community engagement.

    Foundations of the DIB

The DIB plan is made up of four focus areas.

    Respectful and inclusive environment

We want you to be involved with our community. You can do this by joining a group, attending an event, or even by applying for a job with us. Our aim is to ensure our spaces are culturally inclusive, safe and accessible for everyone.

    Employment skills and opportunities

We are working to continually train and upskill our diverse workforce. We are also committed to integrating inclusive practices into everything we do, for both learners and employees.

    Engagement with diverse communities

We listen and integrate feedback from learners, employees, and the community.

To meet our goals we are:

    • expanding community engagement
    • fostering collaboration with staff
    • consulting with diverse community groups.

    Embed inclusive practices

We're committed to creating a learning and working environment where everyone feels included. This involves consultation when designing courses and making online platforms accessible for everyone.

    Work with us
