The TAFE NSW study component will give you the hands-on, practical experience in your area of speciality, in addition to an introduction to the university courses. The University of Newcastle study will continue to build on the theoretical knowledge at a higher level, with industry relevant research to provide you with a well-rounded qualification to ensure you’re a work-ready graduate.

Your University of Newcastle studies are offered at NUspace, Newcastle.
Students will study both the TAFE NSW Advanced Diploma and the University of Newcastle degree for the first 18 months. The first year (two semesters) will include full-time study at TAFE NSW in addition to one course subject at the University of Newcastle. The third semester will include full-time study at TAFE NSW and two course subjects at the University of Newcastle. Students will then transition to full-time study with the University of Newcastle for the remaining 18 months to complete their degree.

You will receive a nationally recognised TAFE NSW Advanced Diploma in either Event Management, Hospitality Management or Travel and Tourism Management qualification and a Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality and Events to apply for a career in senior management or leadership roles.
Graduates may go on to exciting careers in private, government or not-for-profit sectors in Australia and internationally. This study pathway has strong career outcomes in a range of areas such as destination management and marketing, event and festival management, and hospitality and customer service.
