Central Coast local and TAFE NSW student Tylah Field has been recognised for her academic achievement and positive work ethic at the TAFE NSW Excellence Awards in Sydney yesterday.
Ms Field who completed Certificate III in Signs and Graphics at TAFE NSW Ultimo in 2018, was announced as the winner of two awards, the Infrastructure Energy and Construction Student of the Year and Apprentice of the Year, at a gala awards ceremony held at TAFE NSW Ryde.
TAFE NSW Regional General Manager, Alison Wood, commended the winners for the commitment and dedication they have shown to their studies.
“These awards recognise our most passionate, industrious and skillful students, and demonstrate TAFE NSW’s commitment to train the workforce leaders of the future when, where and how it suits them,” Ms Wood said.
“TAFE NSW is proud of the winners’ achievements and we are confident that the exciting learning opportunities we created for these winners helped them to develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their career.
“We are proud to equip our students with practical skills and work experience so they’re ready to hit the ground running in their chosen field.
“It’s incredibly rewarding for TAFE NSW staff to watch students like Tylah grow in the knowledge that the skills and talents they learn with us have the potential to transform their lives,” Ms Wood concluded.
Tylah who is a Mardi local says she is very surprised to have won the awards.
“This wasn’t at all expected, I really enjoyed my time at TAFE NSW. It’s very exciting to have won two awards.”
Head Teacher of Signs, Painting, Cleaning said Tylah is uniquely independent for her young age and demonstrates a highly developed level of autonomy & self-determination.
“It became evident early that she was naturally gifted artistically, requiring little assistance during our design subjects, producing fantastic work and assisting her classmates with less experience.”
Tylah was the only regional student to have won an award at the Sydney ceremony with other winners hailing from North Ryde, Eastwood, Rosebery, Ashfield, Rodd Point, Marrickville, Haberfield, Menai, Miranda, Engadine, Balgowlah, Narraweena and Cromer.
