TAFE NSW talks with Tracey

TAFE NSW Grenfell Education Support Officer, Phoebe Baker, is looking forward to helping students achieve their dreams at TAFE NSW.

It has been another hugely successful month at the TAFE NSW Grenfell Connected Learning Centre (CLC), with lots of great semester two courses starting.

Certificate III in Individual Support, Certificate IV in Community Services and Certificate I in Information, Digital Media and Technology courses have all commenced, as well as a Certificate I in Aboriginal Languages course.

This is the first time ever a Certificate I in Aboriginal Languages course has been offered by TAFE NSW in Grenfell, and it was pleasing to see both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal students learning the Wiradjuri language from Auntie Iris Reid in last week’s first lesson.

While these courses have just started, it’s not too late to enrol. We also have some new courses starting soon, including a Certificate II and III in Community Pharmacy, Certificate II and III in Business Administration, Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management and Advanced Diploma of Work, Health and Safety – just to name a few.

For more information on the benefits of studying through the CLC or any help or advice, pop in and see us in Melyra Street, visit www.tafensw.edu.au or phone 131 601.

In another significant commitment to our students in Grenfell, Phoebe Baker started in her position as TAFE NSW Education Support Officer in July.

Phoebe has been a fully-qualified teacher for more than 15 years, and joins TAFE NSW after teaching in Sydney, Canberra, Grenfell, Young and most recently Caragabal. She is very talented and will help Grenfell students with general literacy, language and numeracy support.

Phoebe said, “I am passionate about quality education and I’m excited about this opportunity to help Grenfell students throughout their learning journey with TAFE NSW.

“I grew up in Young and my husband is from Grenfell – so I love this region. I’m looking forward to helping and supporting students complete their desired qualifications.”
