TAFE NSW and Australia Post today announced they will commence an online training program for a second cluster of employees to help upskill with formal qualifications.
With participants earning a Certificate III in Business or Certificate III in Retail, the program will see another 50 Australia Post employees, from across the country, trained by TAFE NSW business services and retail teachers who are based in Port Macquarie.
TAFE NSW Teacher of Retail and Business, Caroline Hudson says ongoing training and professional development of employees is crucial to the efficiency and effectiveness of any business.
“TAFE NSW is giving students the tools and strategies to contribute Australia Post’s vision of customer service,” she said.
“The course delivery is customised by TAFE Enterprise to meet the specific business needs of Australia Post and we ensure that the business gains the results they are aiming for.
“The emloyees start studying at Certificate III level because they have existing knowledge and we then provide one-on-one support to ensure we are servicing their online learning needs.”
Australia Post’s General Manager Post Office Network, David McNamara, said that Australia Post is thrilled to be able to offer team members the opportunity to develop their retail skills and enhance their career options.
“After receiving such positive feedback from the first round of participants, we are excited to be able to extend this training to our next round of applicants. Australia Post is always looking for opportunities to provide employees with career and professional development so it’s great to be able to participate in this program once again” he said
TAFE NSW provides innovative business-to-business training to an increasing number of large organisations via TAFE Enterprise, which launched in June 2018. To cater to complex needs, program delivery utilises a range of digital and traditional techniques.
