Entry requirements
This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol
You will need to be at least 18 years old to be eligible to sit the unit of competency assessment for high risk work licences
A general construction induction card (commonly known as a white card) – you will need this before you can enter a construction site
Proof of NSW residential address

Completion requirements
During your study you’ll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:
You will need to successfully pass both the TAFE NSW assessment and the SafeWork NSW high-risk work assessment to complete the course. Your teacher will then provide you with the documentation you need to submit your application for an dogging high risk work licence.
Entry recommendations
To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
Language, literacy, and numeracy skills at a Year 10 level or equivalent
Intermediate level fitness to manage physical demands – like bending, kneeling, lifting, standing
Experience in handling tools and equipment
A commitment to your safety and the safety of others
Enthusiasm and an interest in working in the construction or events industries

Licensing
This is a licensed occupation. After you successfully complete the Statement of Attainment in Dogging and have fulfilled all other eligibility criteria, you will need to apply for a dogging high risk work licence with SafeWork NSW. They are the licensing and regulatory authority in NSW. You will need to pay for a processing fee (per class of licence) whenever you apply. You will also need a white card (or general construction induction card), which is required for workers who want to carry out construction work in NSW. This is specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007).
