To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at a Year 12 high school level
An enjoyment of rigorous outdoor recreation activities
Adequate fitness and mobility to complete outdoor recreation tasks such as bushwalking or canoeing including multi-day journeys
Experience using computers and access to the internet and a computer or mobile device
The time for self-paced study and assessment completion outside of scheduled class times
Completed a Certification III in Outdoor Leadership or have equivalent work experience

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Outdoor Leadership qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 27 units of competency, including 12 core and 15 speciality units.
Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
