    Entry requirements

    This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol

    • Successful completion of the Certificate III in Fitness or an equivalent qualification, as evidenced by a copy of your certificate or transcript

    Completion requirements

    During your study you’ll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:

    • An Adult Pre-Exercise Screening at orientation

    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • Appropriate exercise attire such as gym shoes, hand towel, water bottle, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and gym bag

    • Access to a computer and the internet to complete assessment activities outside the classroom

    • Empathy, patience and the capacity to empower others

    • A passion for training others

    • Experience correctly using workout equipment

    • Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at a Year 12 high school level

    • TAFE NSW may ask you to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills test.

    • This skills test helps us to understand your individual study needs, to design an individualised plan that supports your study success and ensures your LLN skills match the demands of the course.

    UnitsUnits taught in this course

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Fitness qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 17 units of competency, including 10 core and 7 speciality units.

    Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
