During your study you’ll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:
A general construction induction card (commonly known as a white card) – you will need this before you can enter a construction site.
To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
A reasonable level of fitness to keep up with the manual tasks of a landscape construction job
You must provide your own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including appropriate steel capped footwear, appropriate clothing such as drill-cotton, full-length trousers and sleeved tops where required, glasses, ear protection and masks as needed.

Landscapers must have a licence before they do any residential building work in NSW, including structural landscaping, valued at more than $5000 (incl GST) in labour and materials. After completing this qualification, you may lodge your application for a landscaping licence in person at a Service NSW centre. Landscapers who wish to connect irrigation to potable water supplies need to have a Plumbers Licence as outlined by NSW Fair Trading. Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Landscape Construction qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 17 units of competency, including 10 core and 7 speciality units.
