Manage soil, select ground cover crops or mulches, understand water availability and maintain soil fertility
Learn pruning techniques, explore training systems, understand related pests and diseases, and manage inputs for quality yield
Monitor orchard health, understand seasonal tasks in management, prioritise worker safety
Determine site data and characteristics for analysing soil information, documenting soil health and determining readily available water

An interest in orchard floor and canopy management
A reasonable level of physical fitness to undertake manual tasks
PPE clothing, including a cotton long-sleeved shirt, cotton long-sleeved pants, leather work boots and a brimmed hat suitable for working outdoors
