Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Apply first aid principles for a variety of situations, including burns, cuts, allergies or choking

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
Physical ability to kneel on the floor to perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles) on an adult manikin placed on the floor

Depending on which industry you are employed in, you may need to renew your qualifications regularly. Safework NSW notes that refresher training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) should be carried out each year and first aid qualifications should be renewed every three years. Please check your local licensing bodies and with your employer for relevant up-to-date information.
