    Equip yourself with fundamental skills in hair styling. Gain specialist skills in styling hair, creating long hair upstyles and braiding in our simulated industry hair salons. Work as a hair salon assistant or hair stylist for photoshoots or events.

    Learning outcomes

    Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

    • Consult with clients on the service they desire

    • Assess client's hair and make recommendations

    • Dry hair and apply finishing products

    • Perform classic upstyles for long hair

    • Use braiding techniques as quick service designs

    Course outcomes

    Gain practical experience and develop specialist skills that give you an advantage in the job market.

    • A nationally accredited Statement of Attainment

    • A pathway to further study in Certificate III in Hairdressing

    • Credit toward a Certificate II in Salon Assistant or Certificate III in Hairdressing

    • Specialist skills in creating long hair upstyles, braiding and styling hair
