Learn to upcycle, mend and repair clothes to create sustainable fashion. This course is brought to you by the Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Fashion + Textiles, a partnership between TAFE NSW and the University of Technology (UTS), Sydney.
During this course you'll learn to:
Understand the basics of upcycling and sustainable repair practices
Identify and evaluate sustainable options for upcycling projects
Practise essential clothing and textile repair techniques
Gain confidence using tools and industrial sewing equipment
Develop skills in mending, recycling garments and basic sewing
Safely prepare and handle tools and materials
You'll leave this course with:
Create your own innovative upcycled fashion garment

To be prepared for this course, we recommend you have:
Basic sewing skills
Closed-toe shoes for working in sewing rooms
At least two garments for your upcycling projects
