Use fitting skills and techniques
Set and edit computer-controlled machine processes
Maintain hydraulic system components

Operate excavators, bobcats, mining borers, generators and power generation machinery

Experience in handling tools and equipment
An interest in working with engineering drawings
An aptitude for working with your hands and good hand-eye coordination
A desire to pursue a career in the mining, shipping, gas and oil drilling, manufacturing or aviation industries

UnitsUnits taught in this course
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 96 units of competency, including 33 core and 63 speciality units.
Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
