Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:
Use basic power and hand tools to assemble and upholster furniture
Perform measurements and calculations
Use drawings, work orders and sample parts for specifications
Select and work with a variety of materials including timber, foams, cushioning and fabric

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
An interest in one of the following: upholstery, flooring technology, mattress and base making or coopering (wine barrel making and refurbishing).
Practical capabilities and an interest in working with your hands
Strong spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at a Year 10 high school level
