Reached 18 years of age when you commence this course. You must be 18 years of age to be eligible for a forklift truck licence.
An interest in warehousing and logistics
Intermediate level fitness to manage physical demands like manual handling
Effective communication skills to work with others when handling loads and equipment
Good organisational skills and the ability to multitask in difficult situations

This is a licensed occupation. After you successfully complete the Statement of Attainment in Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck and have fulfilled all other eligibility criteria, you will need to apply for a forklift truck (LF) licence with SafeWork NSW. This is the licensing and regulatory authority in NSW. Eligibility criteria are as follows: - You will need to be at least 18 years old to be eligible to sit the SafeWork assessment for high risk work licences - You will need 100 points of identification - You will need to provide proof of NSW residential address Please note that the SafeWork assessment is taken in English. Application fees apply. A forklift truck licence allows you to operate a forklift truck, equipped with a mast and an elevating load carriage with a pair of fork arms or other attachment.
