    Eliminate dangerous voltages when working on electrical vehicles. Safely depower electric cars and trucks by removing service plugs and doing service checks. Deactivate an EV’s battery pack and reinitialise it to ensure its systems are working again.

    Learning outcomes

    Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

    • Determine job requirements, manage risks and select the right tools and equipment

    • Depower hybrid electric, plug-in hybrid electric and battery electric vehicles

    • Deactivate a car or truck's battery pack or Rechargeable Energy Storage System (RESS) and reinitialise it to ensure its systems are working again

    • Complete a final inspection, dispose safely of materials and pack away tools and equipment

    • Use industry-standard techniques and tools to work on electric vehicles

    • Refresh your knowledge of using electrical test equipment, such as a multimeter
