    Strengthen your event management skills and pursue senior management roles. Build your strategic leadership capabilities and maintain stakeholder relationships. Research event trends and manage event production, from conceptualisation to completion.

    Learning outcomes

    Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

    • Research event trends and develop event concepts and feasibility

    • Manage event production from concept to completion

    • Develop, implement and monitor event management plans and budgets

    • Identify and manage risks and compliance requirements

    • Lead and manage people effectively

    • Establish and maintain work health and safety (WHS) systems

    • A nationally accredited qualification at Advanced Diploma level

    • Experience planning and implementing real or simulated events including researching and developing event concepts and feasibility

    • Strategies to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders including clients, businesses, local government and suppliers

    • Strong pathways to further study, senior management positions and/or starting your own business

    Entry requirements

    This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol

    • The ability to attend an interview prior to enrolment to determine your (Language, Literacy and Numeracy) LLN level

    Note:

    • Before your first day of class, you must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills test and achieve a score of 20 across the five bands of literacy and 4 across one band of numeracy. This helps us to determine that your skills match the demands of the course, to direct you to an alternative study option or to provide you with the appropriate support for your success. Your teacher will let you know when this must be completed.

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Advanced Diploma of Event Management qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 24 units of competency, including 17 core and 7 speciality units.

    Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
