The Diploma of Creative Practice is designed for specialist creative practitioners and is the first year of the three-year Bachelor of Creative Practice. You’ll fine-tune your skills in your creative medium while developing the business and entrepreneurial skills you need to flourish and grow as an artist. Develop the foundations of a studio-based creative practice, enhance your critical reflection skills and gain an understanding of cultural foundations and business as you build and foster a meaningful career in the creative arts industry.
1 year full time or 2 years part time
Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:
Critically analyse your own work and that of your peers
Write academic reflections on your work
Research the business models of creative industries
Implement business skills to develop your creative enterprise
Develop your craft and improve your creative practice
Develop specialist skills to gain an advantage in the job market
Graduate with a Higher Education Diploma of Creative Practice (AQF 5)
The skills and confidence to work successfully as a self-employed artist
Experience in critically analysing artistic works
Business and entrepreneurial skills
