Develop your creative skills in traditional printmaking - an artistic process that's been around for hundreds of years. Learn the basics of printmaking and turn ideas into printed artworks. Get your hands dirty working with print inks and different media materials such as wood, paper and fabric.

Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:
Use printmaking and artistic engraving equipment including etching presses, line rollers and solar plate etchers and more
Research printmaking ideas, materials and techniques
Explore and use a range of printmaking materials such as wood, copper and zinc
Expand your knowledge of historical and contemporary printmaking to help influence your own projects
Evaluate potential creative and professional opportunities, through different printmaking materials and techniques
Identify and resolve technical printmaking problems

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
A passion for visual design and a desire to work in an artistic studio
Creativity and imagination
Intermediate art and drawing abilities
Basic computer knowledge and reading, writing and maths skills to Year 10 level
Clothing appropriate for an art studio including an apron and leather closed-toe shoes
