It is mid-year already and we have had so much fun! Yabun Festival was deadly. We kicked some goals with TAFE NSW student Jada Mathyssen-Whyman, a proud Wiradjuri and Yorta Yorta woman and also a keeper for the Western Sydney Wanderers FC. Check out the action.

TAFE NSW continued to reflect with Australia’s First People, proud custodians of this land for over 60,000 years. Isaiah Dawe, a Butchulla and Garawa saltwater Murri man, shared his story at the TAFE NSW National Sorry Day Commemorative Ceremony at our Ultimo campus. Isaiah reminded us to recognise the history and continued effect of the forced removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from their families, communities and culture.

This year, Isaiah (that's him pictured in the gym), a former IPROWD student, launched ID Know Yourself, a unique mentoring organisation. Make a difference to yourself and your community with the IPROWD program - just like Isaiah did.

They are shining examples of the excellence and pride we have in Aboriginal education and training in TAFE NSW. Students, graduates and
TAFE NSW staff members are acknowledged for their role in innovation that empowers Aboriginal people and communities every day.

This unique celebration is the 29th year of the TAFE NSW Gili Awards.
