Student travel concessions

Three happy students carrying books and with backpacks board a train. The sun is out and there are city buildings in the background. They are talking and laughing.

The NSW Government provides subsidised travel for a range of people. As a TAFE NSW or TAFE Digital student you may be entitled to concessions, or free travel on public and private transport.

    Check your eligibility

Once you have checked your eligibility and your enrolment is confirmed, you can apply for your travel concession card.

    Long distance travel

If you are an apprentice or a trainee, you may be eligible for The Vocational Training Assistance Scheme (VTAS).

VTAS may be available to apprentices and trainees who:

    • live in NSW

    • travel more than 120 km round trip to attend day or block release training with your RTO.
