    Student travel concessions

    The NSW Government offers subsidised travel for many people. As a TAFE NSW student, you may qualify for travel concessions on public transport.

    Check your eligibility

    Once you’ve confirmed your eligibility and enrolment, you can apply for your travel concession card.

    Long distance travel

    You may be eligible for the Vocational Training Assistance Scheme (VTAS) if you’re an apprentice or trainee in NSW. You must travel more than 120 km round trip to attend day or block release training with your Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

    Travelling with invisible disabilities

    When you travel to study with us, feeling confident and comfortable is important. Transport for NSW offers the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program to provide extra support on public transport. This free government program helps you get the assistance you need.

    To order a lanyard, provide your:

    • Full name
    • Unit and/or street number
    • Street name
    • Suburb
    • Postcode

    You can collect your lanyard from metropolitan or regional train stations, or have it delivered for free.
