As a TAFE NSW student you will be required to do online reading and research as part of your course.
To help you stay safe when studying online, you should:
have strong passwords that include letters, number and characters
never leave devices unattended
always use a secure network
only visit sensitive sites, such as banking or shopping, on a personal device
make sure you have installed the latest anti-virus or anti-malware software
be careful when clicking on links and attachments in email
monitor your account for unusual activity.

Always be careful when clicking on attachments or links in emails, as these could be phishing messages from scammers. Consider who the email is from and what they are asking you to do. Many phishing emails will ask you to do something urgently and may ask you to enter your login details.
If you receive an unexpected or suspicious email for any reason, don’t open it or click on any links. It is safer to just delete them.
If you click a link in an unusual email and are asked to enter your log in details, you need to:
reset your password immediately
delete the email
call 131 601 to reset your password.
Your TAFEcard is vital for campus identification and assessments. It will remain valid throughout your enrolment.
It is also used for things such as:
library borrowing
photocopying
printing
travel concessions.
Please note, the NSW Government provides subsidised or concessional travel for eligible students.

If you don’t have a TAFEcard, you can either:
visit the campus Student Administration Office to request a new card, or
submit an online enquiry with a copy of your ID.
If you have lost or damaged your TAFEcard, you can order a replacement card for $20.

Your enrolment needs to be finalised prior to attending classes. Once your enrolment has been finalised, you will be provided with details about when you can start attending classes.
Your course maybe made up of face-to-face classroom study, virtual classes and online delivery. You will also be required to do study outside of class times. This will vary depending on your course. Your teaching team will provide you with all the specific details regarding your study program.
For the privacy of your fellow classmates, you must not record your lessons.
If you can't attend a class because you are unwell, let your teacher know.
If you are finding it difficult to maintain your study program, please contact your teacher to discuss your options.
Your teaching team will provide you with the details about the best way to contact them. This might be via teams or email.

To help manage the cost of your study, TAFE NSW offers a range of pay-as-you-go options. This means you make small, regular payments.
The options include:
instalment plans, or
split payments.

If you choose to defer your studies due to personal circumstances, you should speak with your teachers first. You may be able to defer for up to a maximum 12 months. A deferral cannot extend beyond 12 months.
