Apply now for a Hunter TAFE Foundation Scholarship

Are you studying at TAFE NSW in the Hunter Region or Central Coast this year? You could be eligible for a Hunter TAFE Foundation Scholarship if you’re experiencing personal or financial challenges that affect your study. Whether you’re already enrolled or ready to start a new course, a scholarship can help with costs and let you focus on what matters.

Each scholarship is worth $500. The scholarships are divided into four different categories:

• Mature Age Student Encouragement Award (35 years or older)
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Encouragement Award
• Kaiyu Mental Health Encouragement Award
• Student Encouragement Award (under 35 years)

You can apply for more than one category if you meet the eligibility guidelines.

Applications for the Hunter TAFE Foundation Scholarships close at 5 pm (AEDT) Monday 28 March 2025.

To be eligible, you must:

• Be studying at TAFE NSW in the Hunter or Central Coast regions, or plan to enrol
• Explain how personal or financial challenges affect your study
• Show you’re committed to your study and career goals
• Be a good student and represent TAFE NSW and the Hunter TAFE Foundation well
• Not have received a scholarship from the Hunter TAFE Foundation in the 12 months before the closing date.

Please remember that TAFE NSW offers multiple support services to students, including free counselling services. We understand that sharing your personal or financial circumstances may be emotionally challenging, so please don’t hesitate to access these services if you need support.

You can arrange an appointment with a counsellor by phoning 131 601 and selecting option five, then option 2. You can also use this option to access disability services or referral to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student support services.
