Fee-free* TAFE Courses 2025

Fee-free* TAFE is a joint initiative of the Australian Commonwealth and New South Wales Governments, providing tuition-free training places for people wanting to train, retrain or upskill.

From late-May 2025 eligible students will be able to enrol in Semester 2 fee-free courses aligned to the state’s priority industry growth sectors.

Places are limited. Fee-free places are subject to availability during each intake and may be constrained by capacity limits. The number of funded Fee-free TAFE places is determined by the terms of the skills agreement between the Australian and New South Wales Governments.

Students must be new enrolments for Semester 2 2025, and studies must commence between 1 July 2024 and 31 December 2025. Students are limited to enrolling in one Fee-free course per semester.

^* To be eligible, people must at the time of enrolment:

• Live or work in New South Wales.
• Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent Australian resident, or a humanitarian visa holder.
• Be aged 15 years or over, and not enrolled at any school.
