    Entry requirements

    This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol

    • A Certificate IV in Live Production and Technical Services as evidenced by a copy of your transcript OR

    • Attend an interview with our teaching staff to determine you have a level of knowledge, skills and experience in the music industry equivalent to the Certificate IV in Live Production and Technical Services

    • After you apply for this course, TAFE NSW will contact you about how you can provide us with the information we need to determine your suitability for this course

    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • A patient attitude and the ability to alternate between intense periods of work and lengthy periods of waiting

    • The ability to occasionally attend rehearsals, functions, and live performances outside of class hours if needed, potentially on evenings and/or weekends

    • Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at a Year 10 high school level. TAFE NSW may ask you to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills test. This skills test helps us to understand your individual study needs, to design an individualised plan that supports your study success and ensures your LLN skills match the demands of the course.

    • Please note that course work includes lifting, carrying and connecting live production equipment.

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Live Production and Technical Services qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 15 Units of competency, including 4 core and 11 speciality units.
