    Kick start your laboratory operations career and build the confidence and skills to safely perform basic tests in a laboratory. Learn to work as part of a team to prepare and test samples, present data findings and follow scientific procedures.

    Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

    • Safely collect, preserve and prepare a wide range of samples

    • Test food, chemical and pathology samples

    • Use laboratory software and equipment including microscope to perform tests

    • Record, process, interpret and present data findings

    • Work sustainably in a laboratory environment and follow waste management procedures

    • Perform scientific calculations required to prepare working solutions

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Laboratory Skills qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 13 units of competency, including 5 core and 8 speciality units.
