    Entry requirements

    This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol

    • That you have achieved a Year 12 high school certificate or equivalent as evidenced by a copy of your certificate or

    • That you have achieved a Certificate IV in Information Technology as evidenced by a copy of your certificate or transcript or

    • That you have recent or current work experience in Information Technology as evidenced by a letter of support from your employer or your resume or

    • That you have completed a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills test with scores of 4 in Learning, 4 in Reading, 4 in Writing, 4 in Numeracy, 4 in Oral Communication and 3 in Digital Literacy as evidenced by a copy of your test results

    • This is designed to ensure your LLN skills match the demands of the course, and to connect you with any personalised study support you may need

    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • The commitment and drive to manage a heavy course load

    • The time to complete course work and additional study outside of class hours

    • Good organisational skills

    • An interest in working in the IT industry, specifically a role in database management

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Information Technology (Database and Data Management) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 20 units of competency, including 6 core and 14 speciality units.

    Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
