Completion requirements
During your study you’ll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:
A Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills test, achieving a score of 2 across the five bands of literacy and 2 across one band of numeracy. This skills test helps us to understand your individual study needs and to provide you with the appropriate support for your study success.
Note:
Due to assessment requirements for practical skills, some students may need to complete additional practical experience in the rural industry. This will be the student’s responsibility and will be determined by local delivery requirements. Students not meeting the requirements should contact TAFE Student Services to discuss their options.
Entry recommendations
To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
An interest in farming animals and/or crops
A reasonable level of physical fitness to undertake manual tasks
PPE clothing, including a cotton long-sleeved shirt, cotton long-sleeved pants, leather work boots and a brimmed hat suitable for working outdoors

UnitsUnits taught in this course
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate II in Agriculture qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 16 units of competency, including 4 core and 12 speciality units.
Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
