To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
Good communication
An interest in the hospitality industry
A love of food and working in a kitchen
An interest in being part of a team
A desire to understand hygiene standards
Appropriate attire for a commercial kitchen such as leather closed-toe shoes, long sleeves and trousers
If obtaining a food safety supervisor certificate is your goal please see our Statement of Attainment in Food Safety Supervision which is also offered at TAFE NSW. This course does not qualify you to receive a Food Safety Supervisor certificate. A Food Safety Supervisor certificate is required by NSW law for all food businesses, including hospitality or retail.
