Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:
Safely start, steer, navigate, position and stop a side by side utility vehicle
Perform pre-start checks and shut down procedures
Ride on a variety of surfaces, terrains and slopes
Attach equipment and loads that do not exceed the weight limitations of the vehicle
Select and wear the correct personal protective equipment
Minimise environmental impacts while driving a side by side utility vehicle
Gain practical experience and develop specialist skills that give you an advantage in the job market.
A nationally accredited Statement of Attainment
Credit toward a full qualification in agriculture, horticulture or conservation and ecosystem management
Skills to safely operate a range of side by side utility vehicles
The ability to inspect and maintain equipment
This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol
You must be at least 16 years of age at the start of the course as evidenced by a copy of your current passport, proof of age card, photo identity card, current Australian driver licence, learner permit or provisional licence

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
An interest in learning to drive side by side utility vehicles
A responsible attitude to driving
The ability to follow instructions
Adequate mobility to mount a side by side vehicle
Good reflexes to adapt to changing driving conditions
You may need to provide your own personal protective equipment. You teacher will let you know what specific PPE you require after your application for this Statement of Attainment has been processed.

Our graduates go onto roles like: farm worker or stockperson with the Certificate II in Agriculture, horticulturalist or landscaper with the Certificate II in Horticulture and field officer for conservation and land management with the Certificate II in Conservation and Ecosystem Management.
No licence is required to complete this Statement of Attainment or operate a side by side utility vehicle on private properties in NSW. However, you must obtain a driver's licence to operate a side by side utility vehicle on public roads in NSW.
