Anyone providing a business activity statement (BAS) service for a fee or other reward must be registered by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and this qualification is currently cited as meeting the TPB education requirements for registration. Other conditions apply, including a designated period of experience. Anyone seeking BAS agent registration should check current registration requirements with the TPB, as registration requirements are reviewed regularly.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 13 units of competency, including 10 core and 3 speciality units.
Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
