    In this 8-week course you'll gain an introduction to fluid power systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics. Gain the practical skills to interpret circuit diagrams, build hydraulic and pneumatic circuits and operate their components.

    Learning outcomes

    During this course you'll learn to:

    • Build basic hydraulic and pneumatic circuits

    • Use direction control valves, pressure control valves and flow control valves

    • Interpret basic hydraulic and pneumatic circuit diagrams

    • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for both hydraulic and pneumatic systems

    • Operate hydraulic components such as pumps, actuators (both rotary and linear) and hydraulic fluid reservoirs

    • Operate and maintaining pneumatic components, including air compressors, linear actuators and rotary actuators

    Course outcomes

    You'll leave this course with:

    • A Certificate of Attendance

    • A potential pathway to further study in fitting and machining

    • The skills and techniques to build basic hydraulic and pneumatic circuits
