    This short course is for people currently working in the electrical industry who want to work in the area of sustainable energy solutions and move into the fast-growing renewable energy sector. You will learn how to harness, measure and store wind and calculate the wind energy output.

    Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

    • Experiment with renewable energy equipment

    • Measure wind data

    • Calculate wind energy availability

    • Use software to select and review sites

    • Specialist skills to interpret local and global environmental wind data for appropriate site selection

    • Recognition of prior learning if you choose to go on to study the Diploma of Renewable Energy Engineering

    Entry requirements

    This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol

    You must demonstrate that you have achieved one of the following:

    • Provide evidence of relevant previous studies such as a course transcript

    • Experience working in the industry

    You must also:

    • Attend a pre-admission interview where you will also be asked to complete a numeracy task - this helps us to understand how we can support your study success and provide you with any necessary support

    Note:

    • Your certificates, transcripts and other entry requirement evidence must be certified through a Justice of the Peace or other authorising officer

    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • A PC or laptop to access study materials and complete your assessments. You can access this equipment on campus, however it is highly recommended you have your own equipment available.

    You do not require an ATAR score for entry into this course.

    If you are unable to meet the entry requirements, you may be eligible for special admission.
