Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:
Build caring and supportive relationships with diverse people
Operate under a duty of care and act as a mandatory reporter
Identify and prioritise the needs of your clients
Make referrals to appropriate services, such as child support services
Recognise and respond appropriately to domestic and family violence
Understand legal processes and procedures regarding applications, tenancy agreements, rent and rental arrears
Gain practical experience and develop specialist skills that give you an advantage in the job market.
A nationally recognised qualification at Certificate IV level

To work in the industry, you will generally require a Working with Children Check (WWCC), National Police Check (NPC), and various vaccinations including influenza and COVID 19.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Housing qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 15 units of competency, including 8 core and 7 speciality units.
Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
