During your study you’ll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:
A general construction induction card (commonly known as a white card). You will need this before you can enter a construction site.
To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
The ability to use hand tools like drills and hammers
Willingness to work at heights and in confined spaces
Literacy and maths skills at an Australian Year 10 level
Fitness at an intermediate level to manage physical tasks like shovelling, moving surveying equipment and walking long distances
Teamwork and collaborative skills

A white card (or general construction induction card) is required for workers who want to carry out construction work in NSW. Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate II in Civil Construction qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 16 Units of competency, including 10 core and 6 speciality units.
