This beginner course covers the basics of furniture making and fine woodworking. Gain confidence through practical projects while learning key skills like measuring, marking, and cutting to create a small project.
During this course you'll learn to:
Understand and identify different types of wood and their properties
Use basic woodworking tools, safely maintaining and handling them
Measure, mark, and cut wood with precision
Apply basic joining techniques, including the use of screws, nails, and wood joints
Sand and finish wood to create introductory woodworking projects
Practise safe work habits with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in a workshop environment
You'll leave this course with:
