Completion requirements

During your study you’ll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:

    • A general construction induction card (commonly known as a white card) – you will need this before you can enter a construction site

  • Note: To undertake all High Risk Work (HRW) assessments in this course, you will need to be at least 18 years old with 100 points of identification.

Entry recommendations

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • Intermediate level fitness to manage physical demands – like bending, kneeling, lifting, standing
    • Experience in handling tools and equipment
    • A willingness to work at heights
    • Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at a Year 10 high school level

Licensing

A white card (or general construction induction card) is required for workers who require access to construction sites. Check your local regulatory requirements. Upon successful completion of this course, you will gain four high-risk work licences - basic scaffolding, intermediate scaffolding, advanced scaffolding and a forklift licence. Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Scaffolding qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 14 units of competency, including 10 core and 4 speciality units.

Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
