Identify and barricade the location of non-friable asbestos materials
Safely set up asbestos work areas
Carry out proper non-friable asbestos removal and decontamination processes
Clean up work areas according to regulatory requirements
Safely dispose of ACM in an approved waste facility

Completion of unit CPCWHS1001 - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, will only be assessed on competence and will not result in obtaining a white card. A white card (or general construction induction card) is required for any worker who needs to access a construction site. Local regulations should also be checked for requirements. Visit the SafeWork NSW for more information on applying for your white card. Asbestos removal is a dangerous process. You must have a licence to carry out this work properly and safely. There are different asbestos removal licences, which mean you can remove different types of asbestos. A Class B asbestos removal licence allows you to remove more than 10 square metres of non-friable asbestos. You must be at least 18 years of age to apply for this licence.
